1:00-3:30pm: Conductor’s Workshop: Conducting Principles for Choir Directors and Choristers; Iowa City Iowa Stake Center, 570 Dublin Drive, Iowa City, IA; Emily will be presenting a fun, hands-on workshop concerning all things conducting: patterns, preps, cues, cut-offs, fermatas, dynamics, phrasing, and articulation, to name just a few! Presented in a clear and engaging way in order to equip directors with the skills necessary to express their musical ideas clearly and accurately. Excellent for beginners or anyone wanting to brush up their conducting technique.

August 12
3:00pm: A special vocal recital featuring solos and duets sung by Emily Spencer and special guest Aaron Waples.; Old Capitol Museum, 21 N. Clinton St., Iowa City, IA.; Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, 18 year-old Aaron shares his beautiful voice and is an inspiring example of what can be accomplished in spite of our challenges.; Emily is a professional concert vocalist, graduate student of the University of Iowa School of Music, and mother of a 7 year-old son with Autism Spectrum Disorder.; Your donation helps support this program and the University of Iowa Children's Hospital Autism Center. All net proceeds will be administered by the University of Iowa Foundation. Thank you!

7:00pm: Speaking at the Nauvoo, IL Visitor's Center.; Singing and commentary relating to the music of the 19th-century Latter-day Saints, as well as stories of faith and inspiration.

July 22
6:00pm: Hearts Knit Together: A Celebration of Heritage Hymns; Historic Kanesville Tabernacle, Council Bluffs, IA; A collaborative, sing-along celebration of hymns shared and beloved by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Community of Christ Church. Emily will discuss their shared musical heritage, highlighting important hymns and musical practices of the early Saints.
